Game Theory Tutor

An adaptive companion to Game Theory: An Introduction with Step-by-Step Examples — Choi, Munoz-Garcia & Espinola-Arredondo

How this works

Welcome! This tutor helps you practice one chapter at a time. First pick a chapter below. The tutor then asks you a session of 25 multiple-choice questions from that chapter, beginning with an easy one. Each time you answer correctly, the next question steps up in difficulty; each time you miss one, the next question stays at the same level so you can master it before moving on. Every question is generated fresh — the numbers, names, firms, and goods change each time — so you can retake a chapter as often as you like and never see the exact same quiz twice. Choose Practice mode to get the correct answer and a short explanation after each question, or Test mode to hold all feedback until the end. No login is needed and nothing leaves your browser.

1. Choose a mode

PracticeSee the answer and explanation after every question.
TestNo feedback until the end; then review everything you missed.

2. Choose a starting difficulty

Sets the difficulty of the first few questions. Each correct answer then steps you up toward level 25.

LowStart easy (level 1) — definitions and basic setups.
MediumStart mid-ladder (level 10) — the medium band.
HighStart hard (level 19) — the hard band.

3. Choose exercise style

Whether a question may use a symbol (like a demand intercept a or a marginal cost c) in place of specific numbers.

Only numericalEvery matrix, game tree, and demand/cost function uses specific numbers, and the answer comes out as a clean integer.
Numerical & parametricAlso includes exercises with one or two parameters (e.g. Cournot with demand p = a − Q and cost c), solved in terms of those symbols.

4. Story mode (optional)

5. Choose a chapter

More chapters are being added. Chapters marked “soon” are not available yet.

🎮 Play the game · learn by doing

Short simulations you actually play. Play first — the theory is explained afterwards. Nothing here is graded.
